-What to wear to any kind of wedding-

2017 is coming close to an end and as I look back at the roller coaster year this has been, one thing was definitely consistent. It was one hell of a wedding heavy year. I guess I’ve hit that stage in my life where almost everyone around me has found their eternal companion and chosen to celebrate their commitment with the people they love. Well, I’ve never felt more loved in my life, given I had about 10 wedding invitations this year alone. Me, being the enthusiast for any opportunity to dress up, I had some fun picking several different wedding guest dresses. And because none of these weddings were the same type, season, or venue I had a chance to pick a dress for each occasion. Well that and the fact that we can’t be repeat offenders right?

First up, the very Special Winter Wedding.

My best friends’ wedding was last January in my home state of Sonora, Mexico. Mexican weddings tend to be at night and dress code usually is all out GLAM. And if that’s not a reason alone to get a chance to wear a ball gown it was the first of my close friends to get married so wedding casual was never an option. Not to mention, it was a winter wedding which I tend to think fall/winter outfits always look a bit more upscale. Think furs and gloves.

I wore this Milly satin ball gown with chrome colored crystal accessories and Badgely Mischka embellsihed pumps.

Second, the Bridesmaid Dress.

I fell in love with this dress the first time I saw it, so when my cousin chose us to wear shades of pinks I new this was my go to. It’s a simple and classic but elegant. It was also a lot more comfortable to dance in that the previous corset ball gown I wore before. Plus, the button detailing in the back gives it a vintage feminine appeal.

Then, the Cocktail Wedding

Another cousin, another Mexican, another dressy wedding. This time it was in early September so the weather was still kind of warm but transitional so I knew straight off the bat I wanted to wear something classic but with a shorter hemline. Middy dresses are so in right now I had several runner ups for the occasion. An LBD seemed like the perfect idea but I wanted something with an extra oomph. You know, something to make it stand out just a bit from anyone else wearing the almost identical dress.

This Cinq a Sept Luna Dress was exactly what I was looking for. The embroidery made it more festive without taking away from its elegant silhouette. It was also very form fitting.

Then comes the Day Wedding

And yes you guessed it. Another cousin hit the wedding bells this year. This time in my lovely current home state of Arizona. I opted for long all lace number in a dark color that would look fall appropriate but still fresh enough for AZ hot summer day. This dress was perfect transition from day to night. I got an insane amount of compliments that day and the best part is that this was the most inexpensive one of all. I totally lucked out!

So I hope this answers “what to wear to your friend’s wedding?” or at least provides some sort of inspiration for the bid day. If you’re a size 2 about 5’5 height and like any of these dresses, hit me up or look me up in poshmark. I’m currently getting rid of some of these since they’ve only been worn once and probably won’t get worn again. It’s a terrible thing to be a woman sometimes.

Truly,
