Okay let’s start out with a huge shout out to the military for inspiring so many different garments over the years and to this day, have become classics. During this particular season the military inspired “bomber jacket” couldn’t be more on point and here is why…

As you’ve all noticed, there two current events happening during this millennial era. First, the whole transgender movement is an outstanding event affecting a whole lot more than history ex. The /A Genderless clothing which many brands and designers are currently promoting.

Then we have the normcore trend which is basically the transition of the hipster into minimalist. The whole laid back, effortless, unique and comfortable is the entire rave right now. So if you were to come up with a piece that reflects both trends, the bomber jacket is on point.

During my brief trip to Mexico City I knew the weather would be pretty perfect during the day (high 70s) and a bit chilly by night. I’d been looking for a light bomber jacket to wear for during my stay there but I have to confess I’m back in AZ and haven’t taken it off.

I’m a huge fan of sheer fabrics and patterns so I was immediate drawn to this jacket. It’s simple enough to wear with anything yet stands out a bit more than any solid jacket could’ve done. Here I paired it with a cross over skirt (also very on trend). And what would be more appropriate than man inspired shoes to go with my man inspired jacket than these loafers? Now don’t get me wrong I’m a total girly girl who loves flowy dresses and stilettos but something about this genderless trend has me discovering new trends and I’m becoming obsessed mixing sporty and feminine. Hence, the vintage skirt (similar here) and blush tone shoes.

So just a heads up, I have my eye on several other bomber jackets like this one and this one so you’ll be seeing more of these and probably even more masculine/feminine outfits around here! Maybe some ripped boyfriend jeans or pockets squares?
