Arizona summers are crazy hot. So you can bet your SPF that our Arizona hotels have elevated the art of keeping cool. Whether you’re coming from far away or are in for a staycation, Mountain Shadows is the perfect way to chill in the desert nestled below Camelback Mountain and Mummy Mountain.
Mountain Shadows was one of the most recognizable hotels in the southwest during the 60s, and had been hosting celebrity guests, star-studded parties, and over-the-top services and scenic views until it closed down in 2004. The resort reopened the completely rebuilt property this year.
Given the amount of iconic dining and entertainment options at the upscale locale, sightseers could virtually spend their entire day at the property and leave satisfied. They are known for elevated luxury experiences and trust me when I say; they’ve set the bar high.
Now about our beloved girls staycation which took place a couple of weeks ago, was incredible but felt too short. We were treated by Mountain Shadows +Bumble, yes the dating app, to promote their new app BumbleBFF (Bumble But For Friends). Our local Queen Bee CollectivelyCandice invited me to become a local bee and join her the hive for a Staycay. I was so into this idea of a friend-finding app since I for one could’ve really taken advantage of when I first moved here. I have to admit it has taken me about 8 years of the 9 I’ve been in the valley to make real genuine girlfriends like the ones I have now. Live is tough and incredibly busy once you’re an adult, but I’m a firm believer of surrounding yourself around good people in order to succeed at whatever it is you’re trying to accomplish. Friendships feed the soul and that’s the kind of friend zone I don’t mind being a part of.
When we first arrived we were greeted by every single person, right of the bat I knew their service was on par. We njoyed some wine while taking shots of the breathtaking views because come on, we’re girls and the scenery is picture perfect.
We then proceed to have dinner at their in house restaurant Heart61 where I was more so impressed on the knowledge of our servers more than anything. Shout out to Sally! Take a look at their exquisite delights, I seriously recommend the ceviche appetizer and the scallop entrée. Oh and that bread pudding was mouthwatering.
Tip: DO not wear a crop top to dinner here. Every single item was irresistible to stop from eating I was a bite away from popping that bustier, no joke!
The next morning we got up had a refreshing green juice before proceeding to our in house yoga class. Talk about a total feel good experience. Everybody say “Om.” Aah, that feels better. J
We had the most important meal of the day again at Heart61 and it did not fail to impress wither. Soooo good! I had the eggs benedict which I substituted the ham for smoked salmon accompanied by a delightful bloody Mary. But the winning dish I have to say were those banana ricotta pancakes. I’m more of a waffle girl but these has crumbled piece of bacon and pistachios over the caramelized banana topping and well… need I say more?
We ended our day by taking a swim at their beautiful pool and refreshing by their cabanas with a crisp sparkling prosecco perfect for a crazy hot summer day.
Thank you to Bumble for sponsoring this amazing staycay!
